Our City. Our Young People. Our Commitment.

We are one small piece of a city-wide collaboration of private and public organizations committed to stopping the cycle of homelessness in our city.

We focus on our city’s young people. Helping young adults off of the streets and into a future of healing and housing stability through emergency shelter, transitional housing, and rapid rehousing programs.

We think Indianapolis is a great place to grow up. But not on the streets. So we’ve committed the last 50 years to helping young people escape homelessness.

That’s good for young people. And good for our city.
“Outreach is incredibly grateful for Stopover’s important mission in providing a safe place for youth and young adults to stay and grow into their next stages of adult life.
Stopover’s leadership and staff consistently connect with Outreach to find stronger ways for our organizations to support youth and young adults together. We exchange training resources as well as provide wrap-around services via case management and housing to young people in Indianapolis. Stopover’s influence plays an essential role in preventing and eliminating youth homelessness in our community.”

We won’t stop until it’s over.

Tonight, hundreds of young people in Indianapolis will be without a home—sleeping in cars, behind buildings, and on couches in someone else’s house.
And we’re not okay with that.
We’ve been here since 1970 and a lot has changed in those 50 years. But our mission has not. Young people still need us and we still need you.

Our vision: To see young people exit our programs as confident, capable, and self-compassionate people who embrace their potential and have the courage to pursue their dreams.
